What actually separates them

  • Like-for-like price: AMLTranche $59/mo +GST ($64.90 incl) vs Flagship $73.37/mo incl GST — about $8.50 a month apart, not $14.
  • Documented coverage: Flagship confirms 9 of 11 obligations; AMLTranche confirms 6, with governance partial.
  • Training: Flagship includes AML/CTF training plus a training register; AMLTranche’s training coverage isn’t documented publicly.
  • Reporting: both cover suspicious matter reports; Flagship also confirms threshold transaction reports, which AMLTranche leaves unverified.
  • Property specialisation: AMLTranche has auction and exchange delayed-CDD workflows and starter-kit-mapped program generation; Flagship is sector-general across all five Tranche 2 groups.
  • Per-use fees: Flagship adds $4.00 +GST per DVS verification and $15.00 +GST per ASIC extract; AMLTranche’s public pages don’t advertise per-check fees.

Common questions

Which is actually cheaper, AMLTranche or Flagship AML?

AMLTranche, but by less than the headline suggests. Its $59/month is quoted plus GST ($64.90 including), while Flagship’s $73.37 already includes GST — a real difference of about $8.50 a month. Flagship also charges $4.00 +GST per DVS identity verification, so if you verify heavily the gap widens; if you verify rarely it stays around $8.50. Both figures verified against the vendors’ own pages, July 2026.

Is AMLTranche only for real estate?

Not exclusively — it lists real estate, conveyancing and accounting — but its design clearly centres on property. The delayed-CDD workflows for auction and exchange, and program generation mapped to AUSTRAC’s Real Estate Program Starter Kit, are built around property timing. Law firms outside conveyancing aren’t the target user. See the full AMLTranche review.

Why does Flagship AML cover more obligations?

Partly because it is built as a full-scope platform, and partly because its coverage has been confirmed in writing. Flagship’s co-founder supplied detailed confirmations of training, SMR and TTR reporting, risk assessment and governance functionality, which we verified and dated. AMLTranche’s undocumented rows are marked Unverified rather than absent — that means we haven’t confirmed them, not that they are missing. See our methodology.
