How we make money

Comparison sites that hide how they're paid don't deserve your trust. Here is ours, in full.

Who pays us

Two groups: AML consultants, who may pay us when we route them a genuine enquiry from a business looking for help with an AML/CTF program, and software vendors, who may pay for demo bookings that come through this site or for a clearly labelled featured placement.

You never pay us anything. Prices you're quoted by a vendor or consultant are the same whether you arrive through this site or not.

What payment buys — and what it doesn't

Payment buys position in clearly labelled "featured" slots and it buys the enquiry itself. It does not buy a better verdict, a softer review, a higher score, or the removal of a con we've identified. Several vendors reviewed on this site pay us nothing at all, and their reviews are written to exactly the same standard.

Every commercial placement on this site is labelled. If a slot isn't labelled, it wasn't paid for.

No affiliate networks

As of mid-2026 there are no affiliate programs in the Australian AML software market — the products are too new. Our commercial arrangements are direct agreements with vendors and consultants, which means no network is sitting between us and the businesses we cover, and no network's commission table is shaping what we recommend.

Why this structure keeps reviews honest

Our business depends on being the one place in this market that isn't selling its own product. First AML ranks First AML first. Every vendor's "comparison" page picks itself. The only durable asset we have is that we don't — so distorting a verdict for one vendor's cheque would torch the thing the cheque was written for. Read our methodology for how reviews are actually put together.
