Already providing Tranche 2 services before 1 July 2026? You must enrol with AUSTRAC by 29 July 2026. New providers have 28 days from their first designated service. What the deadline actually means

How we review AML software and consultants

Every "best AML software" list you'll find for Australia is written by a vendor ranking itself first. This site exists because Tranche 2 businesses deserve a comparison that isn't.

Here's exactly how we work, so you can judge whether to trust us.

What we compare

We assess every product against the actual AUSTRAC obligations that apply to Tranche 2 entities under the AML/CTF regime: enrolment, ML/TF risk assessment, your AML/CTF program and policies, initial and ongoing customer due diligence, suspicious matter and threshold transaction reporting, record keeping, staff training, governance, and independent evaluation. A product either helps you meet an obligation, partly helps, or doesn't — and we say which.

We don't score products on features nobody asked for. If a platform has a beautiful dashboard but can't produce the records AUSTRAC expects you to keep, the dashboard doesn't rescue it.

Where the information comes from

Pricing and feature data comes from vendor websites, published documentation, demo walkthroughs and direct correspondence with vendors. Each vendor profile shows the date the information was last checked. Where we could not verify a claim, the coverage table says Unverified rather than guessing.

Vendors can correct factual errors at any time by emailing us — and we invite every vendor listed to verify their entry. Corrections change facts. They do not change verdicts.

What 'Unverified' means

An honest comparison site has gaps. Where you see "Unverified" it means we haven't yet confirmed that item with the vendor or through hands-on testing. We'd rather show you the gap than fill it with a guess, which is what most AI-written vendor round-ups do.

How verdicts are written

Head-to-head verdicts are written by a person, for a specific reader: an Australian real estate agency, law practice, accounting firm, conveyancer or trust and company service provider deciding where to spend money before AUSTRAC comes knocking. We name who each product suits and who it doesn't. "It depends" is not a verdict, and we don't publish comparison pages until we can do better than that.

Updates and corrections

AML software pricing is moving fast in 2026 — most of these products are less than a year old. We re-check vendor data on a rolling cycle and date-stamp every profile. If you spot something out of date, email hello@amlcompare.com.au and we'll fix it and note the correction.
