Where it's strong

  • Published, itemised pricing across all three tiers — rare in this market
  • Free risk assessment and staff training offered before purchase
  • Runs on Scantek's ISO 27001 identity platform with Australian-hosted data
  • Broad integration list (Actionstep, Clio, Xero, Box+Dice, Forms Live and others)

Where it falls short

  • 12-month subscription term despite plan pages describing monthly flexibility
  • Starter tier includes zero verification credit — every check billed on top of $179/mo
  • Per-check rates ($20 KYC / $40 KYB on Starter) sit at the upper end of the AU market

easyAML is the most visible of the new-generation Tranche 2 platforms, and unusually for this market, you can price it to the dollar before ever talking to a salesperson. It bundles the AML/CTF program, risk assessment, customer due diligence, record keeping and staff training into one subscription, runs its identity checks on Scantek's infrastructure, and publishes an itemised rate card — all verified against easyaml.com/pricing, July 2026.

The honest summary: it's a genuine all-in-one with transparent pricing and Australian-hosted infrastructure, and the two things to walk in clear-eyed about are the 12-month term and the per-check economics of the entry tier.

What easyAML actually covers

The coverage table above tells the story: easyAML addresses the operational core of a Tranche 2 compliance program — the ML/TF risk assessment, the program and policies themselves, initial and ongoing customer due diligence, record keeping and staff training — with compliance-officer and governance support we rate as partial rather than complete. That's the day-to-day workload for a firm providing designated services, and it's the part AUSTRAC's free starter kit only gets you started on — our breakdown of where the starter kit ends and paid tooling begins is the useful companion here.

The Unverified rows are deliberate, not damning. We haven't yet confirmed whether easyAML assists with AUSTRAC enrolment itself, whether its reporting workflows lodge suspicious matter and threshold transaction reports or only prepare them, or what it offers for independent evaluations. We'd rather show the gap than guess — that's how we review everything.

One genuinely uncommon feature: easyAML offers a free risk assessment and free staff training before you buy. Whatever you end up choosing, that lowers the cost of finding out whether the platform fits.

Pricing: what you'll really pay

Three tiers, all plus GST, all with $0 setup (easyaml.com/pricing, July 2026). Starter at $179/month includes no verification credit — every check is billed on top, at $20 per KYC and $40 per KYB. Professional at $449/month includes a $220 rolling monthly credit with cheaper rates beyond it ($15 KYC, $35 KYB). Enterprise at $999/month includes a $440 credit and covers three entities, with extra entities at $49/month each.

The arithmetic that matters: a firm running ten KYC checks a month on Starter pays $179 + $200 = $379 +GST — more than double the headline price. And the tiers cross over faster than you'd think: from about 14 KYC checks a month, Professional's $449 (with its credit covering those checks at the $15 rate) works out cheaper than Starter plus pay-as-you-go. If your check volume is anything beyond occasional, price the second tier first.

Two caveats from the vendor's own pages. The subscription runs on a 12-month term per easyAML's FAQ — despite pricing being quoted monthly — so the real Starter commitment is $2,148 +GST before any checks. And those per-check rates sit at the upper end of the Australian market: the cheapest verified subscription in our database is $59/month, and one competitor charges the client rather than the firm for each check. Different models suit different practices, but easyAML's premium is real and worth pricing against your actual file volume.

The Scantek connection

easyAML is built on Scantek's identity-verification infrastructure — an ISO 27001-certified platform with Australian-hosted data. Practically, that means the KYC machinery underneath is an established verification operation rather than a compliance startup's bolt-on, and your client identity data stays onshore — a question legal and conveyancing firms in particular should be asking every vendor.

The integration list is practice-management-shaped: Actionstep and Clio for legal, Box+Dice and Forms Live for real estate, Xero on the accounting side, among others. That maps neatly onto the four sectors easyAML targets and matters more than it sounds — CDD that lives inside the file workflow gets done; CDD in a separate portal gets forgotten.

Where it fits — and where it doesn't

Fits: small firms in real estate, conveyancing, legal and accounting that want one vendor to stand up the whole program — risk assessment, policies, checks, training, support — and would rather pay a known premium than assemble pieces. The free pre-purchase risk assessment and training make it an easy platform to evaluate seriously, and published pricing means no discovery-call theatre.

Doesn't fit: firms that need month-to-month flexibility — the 12-month term rules that out. Very low-volume practices should check whether a cheaper program-only tool plus occasional manual checks beats $179/month before credit. And high-volume screening operations should model the per-check spend carefully — at easyAML's rates, volume is where the bill grows fastest.

Verdict

easyAML is one of the most complete Tranche 2 platforms we've reviewed, and its pricing transparency deserves the market's attention — fewer than half the vendors in our database publish their prices at all. The product covers the obligations that consume a small firm's week, the infrastructure underneath is credible and Australian-hosted, and the free evaluation path is genuinely useful.

Score it down for the 12-month term — quoted monthly, committed annually — and for Starter's zero-credit economics, which make the entry price look smaller than most firms' real bill. Against the Government's estimated average ongoing compliance cost of $23,250 a year, even Professional at $5,388 +GST plus checks is a modest line item — though that average includes staff time, not just software, so treat it as context rather than a saving. If you're comparing seriously: get your check volume for the last quarter, price both tiers against it, and get the term confirmed in writing. How we make money — and why it doesn't change verdicts.

Common questions

How much does easyAML cost per month?

From $179/month +GST on the Starter tier — but that includes no verification credit, so every check adds $20 (KYC) or $40 (KYB). Professional is $449/month +GST with a $220 rolling credit and cheaper rates ($15/$35); Enterprise is $999/month +GST with a $440 credit across three entities, $49/month per extra entity. Setup is $0 on all tiers. Source: easyaml.com/pricing, July 2026.

Is easyAML a lock-in contract?

Per easyAML's own FAQ (July 2026), the subscription runs on a 12-month term, even though prices are quoted monthly — so Starter's real minimum commitment is $2,148 +GST before any checks. Setup is $0. If contract flexibility matters to your firm, get the term and any exit provisions confirmed in writing before signing.

What does an easyAML KYC check include?

We've verified the price — $20 on Starter, $15 within Professional's credit — but not yet the exact contents of each check: which document types, data sources, and whether PEP and sanctions screening are bundled or separate. The checks run on Scantek's identity-verification platform. Until we've confirmed the scope, treat it as Unverified and ask the vendor for the itemised inclusion list — here's why we show gaps rather than guess.
